Minitrekking Tour Itinerary
The day begins with the search for passengers who chose the option with transfers, taking them to Puerto Bajo Las Sombras, located within the Los Glaciares National Park, 70 km from El Calafate. From here, we embarked to cross the Brazo Rico of Lake Argentino, approaching the starting point of the unforgettable trekking.
Trekking through the forest in search of the glacier
We begin our adventure with a fascinating hike through the lush Andean Patagonian Forest, revealing the first breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno Glacier and spotting the marvelous ice formations. Before heading out on the ice walk, our expert guides will provide the necessary indications to ensure a safe and exciting experience.
Walking on the ice, an unforgettable experience!
Equipped with crampons, helmets and poles, we will begin the mini trekking on the glacier, exploring unique ice formations such as deep crevasses, blue sinkholes, imposing seracs, lagoons and formations. Although the circuit presents a medium level of difficulty, the ice surface is firm and safe, allowing you to enjoy this unique experience to the fullest.
Whiskey with glacier ice and farewell
At the end of the trek we will give our passengers whisky with ice from the glacier, then we will return by the same path to complete the three hour walk along the lake shore, moraine, ice and forest. On the way back to Puerto Bajo de las Sombras you will be able to admire the imposing walls of the glacier from the boat.
For those who opted for the transfer, we will comfortably return you to your hotels at the end of the tour. If you are not staying at a hotel or hostel, a convenient meeting point will be assigned for the start of the tour.
Passengers without a transfer should arrive punctually at Puerto Bajo Las Sombras, and it is recommended to arrive early to explore the walkways on your own and then head to the port to begin navigation and trekking on the ice. The option to add the transfer is available more than 7 days before the selected date.

Age: From 8 to 65 years old. For minors from 8 to 15 years old, it is required to provide a picture of identity document and mention the relationship with the minor. Send the attached document to our e-mail info@calafate.tours.
Requirements and Restrictions:
Tour not suitable for pregnant women, people with knee or back problems, obesity (BMI over 30), people with heart problems, stent, bypass, pacemaker, anticoagulated, nor people with recent operations or disabilities.
Recommendations:
Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, warm clothing, gloves, hiking shoes or shoes with laces and lunch.
